A division order is a document issued by a well operator or the company that is purchasing oil/gas from a well. A division order sets out information about the owner and the owner's share of the royalties from the well.
The information that is appropriate for a division order according to Oklahoma law is limited. A division order should contain:
Division of interest/Net revenue interest
Well name
Owner name
Owner address
Owner SSN/TIN
Provision requiring notice of change of ownership
Ideally, the division order will also contain the location of the well. Typically, companies issuing division orders will include other language much of which is not necessary and which may not be in your best interest. Those provisions can be stricken.
If you'd like someone to review your division order and make necessary modifications, head over to the Contact page and schedule a time to talk with me.
